Tao Sones are special collectables in Freedom Planet. Those are hidden in every stage, except Final Dreadnought (rounds 3 and 4). If you find an Tao Stone before completing a stage, you will be able to visit the Bonus Level afterwards (only in Adventure and Classic Mode).
Locations
- Aqua Tunnel
- The token is located at the beginning path of the last area right where the path ends hidden behind a fake wall.
- Dragon Valley
- The token is located in the second area of the second half of the stage, head down a hole, then go underwater and past a few star flounders.
- Relic Maze
- The Relic Maze has 2 tokens, one in each half of the stage (Only one of them can be obtained, while the other token disappears). The first token location is in the Eye Golem room in the purple area hidden at the bottom of the level behind a fake wall. The second token location is past a staircase switch, a breakable wall and near a fire spitter.
- Fortune Night
- The token is located in the first part of Zao's shopping paradise in the section with a pipe left side.
- Sky Battalion
- The token is in the Metal ship in the section with spinning electric wheels and the Hopper MKII. Right after getting to the other side, detonating the Bombs will blast a hole to the floor where the token is.
- Jade Creek
- The token is found from the first part of the stage in the section filled with blue bubbles. Use them to reach the top, where the token is.
- Trap Hideout
- The token is past the Crystal Basher and a few Biker Ninjas, then go left after using the Jump Pads (If the player is Carol).
- Thermal Base
- The token is right at the end of the level in the room leading to the boss, Syntax (Flame Armour).
- Pangu Lagoon
- The token is located in the last part of the first half of the stage before the Keystone monitor select. Climb up a vine to the top, the token will be right above a Treasure Chest.
- Battle Glacier
- The token is near the end of the level, past the Spider Beamer and before the area with Shade Troopers and the missile drills.
- Final Dreadnought (Round 1)
- The token is right before the Enemy Ambush section. be careful not to fall and miss the token next to the pit.
- Final Dreadnought (Round 2)
- The token is in the second area near the top of the second elevator and to the left near a Water Shield and a Hopper MKII.
Freedom Planet 2
Tao Sones makes cameo appearance in a new element likely called "Bonus Rings", which are rainbow colored rings (similar to the ones seen in Pangu Lagoon). Passing through these rings will start a timer where the player can likely collect even more crystals. The character will also leave behind a trail of Yin Yang marks.
