The Schmup Stage is an Extra Stage in Freedom Planet and is only playable through Adventure and Classic modes.
The characters will ride in vehicles and blast through Lord Brevon's army as they fight their way to the Battle Glacier, where the Kingdom Stone-powered Dreadnought is preparing to launch. Lilac will ride the Holodragon, while Carol, Milla and Torque pilot Shang Mu Tanks, armed with Mortar Launchers and Flamethrowers. The objective is to blast and survive through 6000M of multiple enemies. At the end of the stage, the character will battle against Syntax, who will attack with it's Hologram Mode, and must be defeated in order to proceed to the next stage. Also, Any damage taken in this stage will be carried over to Battle Glacier.
There are 3 different types of enemies in this stage:
- Sphere: Fires three shots, which can be blocked by firing bullets.
- Saucer: Moves up and down the right part of screen before charging at the player.
- Gunship: Charges and fires energy waves, which cannot be blocked.
Trivia
- Casual mode's health regenerator does not work with Milla and Carol in this stage.
- Only Lilac's health regenerates regardless what mode is on. When Battle glacier begins, the health still regenerates although Normal mode is on.
- Milla has 7 health petals during this stage.
