The King of Shuigang (real name unknown) is a minor character in the Freedom Planet Series. He is the former ruler of Shuigang and the late father of Dail & Spade.
Before his death, The King had ruled the Kingdom of Shuigang, and was most likely a respected ruler, and one of the strongest. However, his kingdom was soon invaded by an alien army led by Lord Brevon. The King and his Soldiers fought valiantly against the invaders but were quickly defeated. Wounded, he notices his son Dail having been captured, and after Brevon reveals his intentions of "gifting" Dail with his knowledge, the Warlord the King in cold blood by beheading in front of the young Prince, setting the events of Freedom Planet into motion.
Years later, during Freedom Planet 2, the King's armor and weapons are kept on display to honor his memory, all while King Dail continues to be haunted by the memory of his father's death, blaming himself for not being strong enough to protect him. It is also revealed that he had trained Gong, who would go to become the 1st Battlesphere Champion and then the General of Shang Tu.
Appearance[]
The King of Shuigang was a male panda with white fur, light brown hair and green eyes. He wore traditional royal attire in the Kingdom's national colors: green and yellow.
Personality[]
Not much is known about the King of Shuigang. He was shown to have been confident in the defense from the outer walls that protected his Palace and was surprised when Brevon's Army managed to invade his palace from breaking through the Palace floors via the Absolution. Despite his courage he showed against Brevon's forces, the King immediately gave in to fear when he noticed his son Dail being held hostage by Shade Troopers.
Abilities[]
Before his death, the King of Shuigang was shown to be proficient with a large Battle-Axe, able to wield it without difficulty, showing that he was strong at using such weaponry.
Relationships[]
Dail[]
Dail is the King's oldest Son and Heir to the Throne of Shuigang. Little is known about their relationship, though is very likely that he loved his son very much, as shown when he saw him being held captive by Brevon's forces. Years later, the King's death would continue to haunt Dail, though Neera would imply that he is doing his father's memory proud.
Spade[]
Spade is the King's youngest Son from another marriage, but details of their relationship remain unknown. Despite the little to no details, Spade had shown fierce determination to avenge his Father's death, even going as far as stealing the Kingdom Stone to flush out the killer.
Gong[]
Lord Brevon[]
They are the enemies of Brevon attacked his kingdom and took his son prisoner his army failed to hold back his Brevon army. He tried to fight back against Brevon but was easily defeated by his army. Ultimately, he fell in fear of him and in the last minutes of his life, he asks Brevon what he needs from them. After answering his question, Brevon uses his knife and decapitates the king, killing him right in front of Dail.
Trivia[]
- He is one of the first whose death was shown and the first to be killed by Lord Brevon.
- In Freedom Planet 2, the (former) King of Shuigang's warrior robe can be seen within the Shuigang palace, neatly placed by the Throne's left-hand side, while his Axe is positioned by the throne's right-hand side.
- In earlier builds, both the axe and the warrior robe were see mounted on a wall in the background.
