Fuel Tanks are red canisters with gasoline and have the Chinese character for "Fuel" or "Gas". They are placed throughout most of the Stages in Freedom Planet and Freedom Planet 2.
Freedom Planet
Carol Gameplay
Fuel Tanks can be used by Carol, who uses them to spawn a Motorcycle for her to use, increasing her speed, attack power and replacing her pounce attack with a spin attack (also works as a double jump). The Motorcycle will break after 3 hits (except during the Boss Fights with the Robopanther in Fortune Night and Morpher Syntax in Final Dreadnought 1), but picking up another Fuel Tank will fix any damage it may have sustained.
If playing as Carol in during the Boss Fight in Jade Creek, Fuel Tanks will be dropped by any Shade Elite she defeats. That way, she can get her Motorcycle and attack the Gunship easier.
Milla Gameplay
Milla can also use Fuel Tanks by picking them up and use them as Bombs to throw at enemies, glowing while she holds it. However, they'll explode upon hitting the ground and she can get hurt if she's too close to the explosion.
Freedom Planet 2
Now labeled as a Special Power-Up in Freedom Planet 2, Fuel Tanks will retain their original role of providing Carol with a Motorcycle. But this time, Fuel Tanks can now provide her with brief invulnerablity if she already has her Motorcycle equipped.

Trivia
- Jade Creek is the only Stage in Freedom Planet where Carol starts out with her Motorcycle.
- In the "Sample Version" of Freedom Planet 2, Fuel Tanks could also provide Lilac, Milla and Neera with brief invulnerability.
