According to the radar, we seem to be at the right location.
- Torque, using his radar to find Gong's Meeting Point

Rage Ravine is a location situated within the Valley Region of Avalice, being a rocky ravine area (hence the name) located to the north of Lilac's Treehouse.

Story[]

After Lilac receives a phone call from General Gong, she and rest of Team Lilac travel and trek through Rage Ravine in search of the General's meeting point (though how they got there is ultimately cut). They eventually reach their destination, but upon arriving, Gong is nowhere to be seen, with Carol stating to Torque that his radar was a little off. Just then, Milla picks up a scent and Puppy Floats to an overhead cliff, and the Team follows her to find Gong and the Bird Guard are waiting for them. Following introductions, Gong explains that the Magister wants the Team to travel to Shang Mu and negotiate with Mayor Zao in returning the Kingdom Stone stolen by Spade. Carol asked why they needed their help, and the General replies that sending a neutral party for negotiations is the right call, since a state of affairs leaves Shuigang out of the picture. With their mission clear, Team Lilac accepts the task and a takes a biplane piloted by Torque and flies towards Shang Mu, in the hopes of catching up to Spade before it's too late.

Gameplay[]

Rage Ravine was originally planned to be a Stage in Freedom Planet, but was cut for unknown reasons. It is also currently unknown how the entire stage layout would appear, or the current placement of enemies would be, though it seemed it would have shared some elements found in Trap Hideout, such as the blossom trees and certain enemies. The data can likely still be found within the beta builds. Due to the data, it appears this would have been the 3rd Stage under the name Rust Yard, which would have been preceded by Relic Maze and succeeded by Fortune Night, making it the 4th Stage, and so on. Despite this Stage being cut, scenes of the location were recycled for certain Cutscenes in the Game's Adventure Mode, specifically Team Lilac's meeting with Gong. The Soundtrack for the Stage appears intact, but ultimately went unused.

Enemies[]

Trivia[]

  • Like the unused Horizon Starport Stage, Rage Ravine ends with a large bottomless pit, signifying the Stage's incomplete and scrapped design. Unlike the former however, the latter is even more so unfinished. Not only does there appear to be no title card associated with Rage Ravine, but also the length for the entire completed section of said stage appears rather short in comparison to Horizon Starport.
  • This stage has a strange unused platform positioned near the top of the stage, a platform that does not appear to be used anywhere else in the game at all. This stage also uses the rapidly vertical moving platforms later seen in Thermal Base. Furthermore, this stage uses many assets seen within the first 3 areas of Trap Hideout, possibly indicating that Rage Ravine was either scrapped in favor of or relocated to/merged with Trap Hideout due to both sharing similar level designs.
  • Older names for this Stage were "Rust Yard" and "Proving Ground".
